Meet Teacher Meshack Naiboro
Meshack Naiboro is one of the inspiring teachers in our Nomadic Montessori Schools! For Meshack, teaching is his life’s calling and he loves helping children from his community to develop and grow.
Making significant strides to improve snakebite care
Almost 45% of human-wildlife conflicts in Kenya involve snakes, resulting in over 1,000 deaths annually. Nurse Dorcas Moraa attended the 13th Annual East African Snakebite Conference to gather knowledge on addressing this challenge effectively.
A lifelong commitment to meaningful change
As a champion of community-based conservation in northern Kenya, Titus Letaapo has developed various strategies that benefit both communities and wildlife.
Regrounded in nature.
Newly regrounded and honouring its remote location, the expansive suites, verandahs, and shared guest areas of Sarara Camp and House now make even more of this coveted Ecolodge’s awe-inspiring views and proximity to Namunyak Conservancy’s incredible wildlife.
Living history
In Samburu culture, elders are deeply respected, and as one of the last two remaining founding elders of Namunyak Community Conservancy, Mzee Lemojong is described as “a blessing to us all”.
Growing our future together!
Louwai Obo was a hive of activity this past month. In addition to our fourth nomadic Montessori School opening with a joyous celebration, our Eco Rangers also supported this community in numerous ways!
Celebrating bright new futures!
Our hearts filled with joy as we celebrated yet another educational milestone this month with the opening of The Sarara Foundation’s fourth nomadic Montessori School.
Healthy bodies, healthy minds!
Here in Namunyak, it’s not just our teachers who are committed to the growth of our future leaders – the entire community supports them as they reach many important milestones in their young lives!
Garden-fresh goodness!
Did you know that at Sarara, we produce our own sustainable veggies without incurring food miles and importing fresh food from elsewhere? Our grow-house uses a tailormade system that is perfect for northern Kenya’s climate – and drought-resistant too!
Go green! A recipe from our kitchen to yours.
Refreshing and nourishing, Sarara Camp’s mint and zucchini gazpacho made with freshly picked greens from our garden bursts with flavour – and it’s the perfect cool-down dish in the heat of the day!
