With its captivating cliffside setting and dramatic views, this exclusive-use lodge allows guests to experience Kenya’s pristine northern frontier in privacy, and on their own terms.

Set a mere 10-minute walk from Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, this unique and secluded lodge offers guests a front-row seat to the remarkable conservation efforts of the first community-owned and -run elephant sanctuary in Africa.

Featuring four beautifully appointed standalone suites – each offering a spacious outdoor shower and private terrace with uninterrupted views – Reteti House also includes a family suite for four, which includes an indoor shower.

In total, the lodge accommodates 10-12 guests.

Making the most of its magnificent location, Reteti House enjoys a remote setting in Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy – which spans 850,000 acres of rare and protected wilderness.

Framed by breathtaking cliffs frequented by Egyptian vultures, klipspringers, and resident leopards, the lodge is the perfect platform for life-changing immersions in nature. It’s a springboard for marvelling at spectacular wildlife, and being mesmerised by the region’s incredible array of bird species.

With Reteti Elephant Sanctuary a stone’s throw away, guests have access to exclusive feeding times at the sanctuary.     • Temperature: Warm climate all year round. Nightly lows: 20-25°C; daily highs: 30-35°C

    • Child policy: Children of all ages are welcome but more suitable for 6 years+

    • Phone signal: Intermittent Safaricom signal

    • WiFi: Starlink WiFi in main areas

    • Power: 24-hour solar power. Please note: Electronic devices can be charged but voltage not strong enough for hairdryers

    • Plugs: Charging points in room (plug type G) and in main area. Please note: No adapters provided.

    • Getting to Sarara

      • Private charters into Namunyak airstrip.

      • Scheduled flight: Safarilink/Air Kenya to Kalama airstrip (Transfer to Sarara: US$450 (max 4 passengers) approx. 1.5h drive)

      • Scheduled flight: Safarilink/Air Kenya to Lewa airstrip (Transfer to Sarara: US$550 (max 4 passengers) approx. 3.5h drive)
