Shaping the future by advocating for Indigenous voices on the international stage
Titus Letaapo, our Director of Community, recently attended the 2023 GEO conference as a panellist and speaker. His advocacy for the GEO Indigenous Alliance and the adoption of the UNDRIP showcases his commitment to preserving biodiversity through Indigenous wisdom and leadership.
A lifelong commitment to meaningful change
As a champion of community-based conservation in northern Kenya, Titus Letaapo has developed various strategies that benefit both communities and wildlife.
Living history
In Samburu culture, elders are deeply respected, and as one of the last two remaining founding elders of Namunyak Community Conservancy, Mzee Lemojong is described as “a blessing to us all”.
In Memory of Loldikir
On the 21st of May 2023, the Samburu community and Sarara lost one of its greats. Loldikir has been instrumental in the forming of Sarara and Namunyak and helping shape what it is today. His wisdom and knowledge was unmatched and his passionate dedication to conserving the wilderness deeply inspired those around him.
