Double the (dik-dik) joy!

Spotting a dik-dik is always a thrill, but it was twice as nice to encounter a mother and her newborn as the sun dipped over the horizon yesterday!

It was extra special since those spindly little legs were stepping into the world for the very first time – as these tiny antelope can stand within five minutes of being born, and nurse within hours.

What a privilege to share in the precious beginning of a new life here in the wilderness – just as the Sarara Valley is turning lush and green after recent rains!
