Being a Samburu mother amidst an ongoing drought.

Ntanipi shares with water campaigner, Mina Guli, how the drought has caused heartbreak within her family.

As a Samburu woman and mother, Ntanipi's responsibility of finding water for her family and her goats, is becoming increasingly difficult to bear amidst the ongoing drought.

Having to walk longer and longer distances in search of water - a journey too arduous for any baby to undertake, Ntanipi's only option is to leave her baby with the older children.

One such day, whilst away looking for water, Ntanipi's baby had a terrible accident sustaining severe burns across his head and body.

Ntanipi shares her story with water campaigner, Mina Guli who recently visited Namunyak Conservancy as part of her #RunBlue campaign to raise awareness of the global water crisis.

Unfortunately Ntanipi's story is not unique. Our Nomadic Healthcare Team has seen an increasing frequency burn accidents in babies and young children across the conservancy - all occurring whilst mothers are searching for water.

Our Healthcare Team is doing everything in their power to support mothers like Ntanipi and her baby.
