Education
The long term prosperity of wildlife in Northern Kenya depends entirely on in-depth generational support for children being born today.
To bring this to life, we deliver best in class educational models, such as Montessori, that are culturally relevant, to serve and educate both nomadic and centralised communities.
There are currently 3 nomadic Montessori schools with 7 teachers coordinating the learning activities in Samburu.
The children have adapted very well to Montessori learning and have gained confidence, patience, independence and are more disciplined.
The number of children enrolled at each school by the end of the term.
We also currently have 6 teachers in training at St. Anne’s Training College, in Nakuru.
Message from the Chairman
The challenges of 2020 seemed to follow us into the first semester as travel restrictions continued in Kenya and throughout the world. As a result, tourism revenue flowing into community conservation has radically decreased, however with your support, we were able to continue all the Foundations programs without interruption.
We're pleased that construction on Reteti House has started and all the ground staff of The Sarara Foundation and Sarara Camps have received their vaccinations. We look forward to continue our work and hope to see you at Sarara soon!
