Meet Isaiya

At Tintil School, we have a student named Isaiya. He is one and half years old.

When Isaya started school at the age of one, he followed his twin sister around all day. But this shy behaviour quickly changed as he started to enjoy school. “Kayou sukulu nano!” or “I want school!” he will cry when his mother collects him. On days that he oversleeps, he runs out to join his sisters on their trek to school, whether he’s dressed or not.

Isaiya is that student that never misses class. He is very active in practical life activities. He shares his food that he receives at school with his pet dog after he returns home. Some days Isaiya dresses like a Samburu Moran (warrior) and even has a wooden sword.

He loves Teacher Dennis very much and recently got given the nickname “Layion e Dennis” meaning “Son of Dennis”.

Sarara’s first core pillar states:

"Genuinely lasting solutions can only be realised through supporting an entire generation from cradle to career."
