How to get to Sarara

FLIGHTS FROM NAIROBI TO SARARA

  • Private charters into Namunyak airstrip

  • Scheduled flight: Safarilink/Air Kenya to Kalama airstrip (Transfer to Sarara at an extra fee (max 4 passengers) approx. 1.5h drive)

  • Scheduled flight: Safarilink/Air Kenya to Lewa airstrip (Transfer to Sarara at an extra fee (max 4 passengers) approx. 3.5h drive)

SELF-DRIVE FROM NAIROBI TO SARARA

Sarara Wilderness, situated in the wider Samburu ecosystem, is within reach of both Kalama and Buffalo Springs airstrips. Guests can opt for scheduled flights with Safarilink or Air Kenya – or make use of private charters. Travel time from Sarara Camp, Reteti House, and Sarara Treehouses is 2.5 hours.

The Sarara Foundation is working together with the Indigenous Samburu community to protect their land, wildlife and livelihoods.

Sarara proudly supports the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary in Namunyak Conservancy. The world’s first Indigenous community-owned African elephant sanctuary.
